The feature comprehensive operating system provides enterprise management from a single and easy to use console for faster deployment and lower TCO. The Operating System resides in on-board flash allowing replacement of the entire array easily.

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro supports hardware RAID 0 (Striping), RAID 1 (Mirroring) and RAID 5. Hardware-driven RAID system in SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro provides much better performance compare to Software-driven systems in other NAS devices. The Operating system ensures the proper volume configuration and also provides scalable RAID options with different levels.

RAID 0: Striped Disk Array without Fault Tolerence: Provides data striping (spreading outblock of each file across multiple disk drivers) but no redundancy. This improves performance but does not deliver fault tolerance. If one drive fails, then all data in the array is lost. (100% of disk capacity available)
RAID 1: Mirroring and Duplexing: Provides disk mirroring. Level 1 provides twice the read transaction rate of single disks and the same write transaction rate as single disks. (50% of total disk capacity available)
RAID 5: Block Interleaved Distributed Parity: Provides data striping at the byte level and also stripe error correction information. This results in excellent performance and good fault tolerence. Level 5 in one of the most popular implementations of RAID. (65% of total disk capacity available)

RAID sync process might take several hours before you can use the replaced volume. With SnaZio* Background RAID process, there is no need to wait for hours. It’s all done in background and you can use the volume right away after replacing it. Tera NAS HD Pro makes things easier and gets you going.

A feature that really makes life easier. RAID initialization or parity resync process can go upto several hours and what about electricity shutdown or power failure at this stage. With the Smart Sync Resume in SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro, the sync process continues from where it left off, when the Tera NAS HD Pro was shutdown.

The Snapshot feature works using “Copy-on-write” technique and captures directory structure at a particular moment in time and preserves file attributes and contents with pointers mapping to this location. The modification is saved on extra space. SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro also allows you to schedule a snapshot of the volume at a specified interval. Snapshots, allowing consistent backup to be performed by making an exact read-only copy of a logical volume, frozen at some point in time, while applications continue to modify data on the logical volume. Snapshot feature allows instant restoration of accidentally deleted files. Because the snapshots are created instantly online, the restore process is also extremely fast since no time is spent finding the backup file.
Minimizes overhead while saving multiple system images. During Snapshot creation, the CPU load is held to a minimum
Allows replacing virus-affected files by referring to the snapshot taken at midnight and restoring the version of the files as of midnight
Allows taking instant backup of volume by copying the snapshot rather than live shares being changed.

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro allows you to set disk quota by either limiting the disk usage on a per-share basis or per-user or group basis. Now it’s quite easier to make sure that your kids do not fill up the entire space with their downloaded games or your multimedia students with their videos. Assigning disk quote really helps to fit this device in either educational institutions or in advertising agencies or Post-Production houses where each group of people wants designated space.

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro supports three security modes offering a complete solution from Home to Medium-sized office and corporate environment.

Home and Small Office
In this mode, security is granted on a per-share basis. This means access to the NAS is limited based on who has the share password.
Medium-sized Office
In this mode, a large number of users may exist, with users perhaps grouped into functional groups, such as Sales or Accouting. This mode requires an explicit login using a user id and a user password to access the NAS. Once logged in, the user can access only the shares that the user or the group that he or she belongs to are given access to. For instance, a user from the Sales group may not necessarily be given access rights to a share meant only for the Accounting group. This security mode does not require a little more maintenance because user and group accounts must be maintained on the NAS using FrontView Setup.
Corporate Environment
This mode is very similiar to the second mode, however, instead of maintaining the accounts on the NAS, accounts from the company's central Windows domain controller (often referred to as the Primary Domain Controller, or PDC) or the Active Directory Service (ADS) server, are accepted. In corporate environments, having a central server such as these allows for reduced overall maintenance considering the number of servers on the network.

Adding a bunch of users is a breeze in SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro. Our user mode security offers the option of easily adding 1, 5 or 400 users instantaneously. Just create a user list in Excel, export it as a CSV file and upload to the Tera NAS HD Pro. Won’t it be troublesome to assign private share to these 400 users, Tera NAS HD provides a right solution by automatically creating a private share on first log-in from each user.

The powerful operating system provides Writeable HTTP shares. With this feature, anyone can now create, modify and delete files using a simple web browser. This feature allows for easy and safe file sharing over the Internet as well as easily setting up an Intranet site out of a share

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro provides state of the art data journaling ensuring data integrity. This fault-resilient system continuously writes updates to directories and bitmaps to a serial log on disk. In the event of a system failure, our journaling technology ensures that the data on the disk has been restored to its pre-crash configuration. It also recovers unsaved data and stores it in the location where it would have gone if the computer had not crashed, making it an important feature for mission-critical application.

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro is fully compatible with DHCP. There is no need to assign static IP address, DNS or gateway. Everything will be done automatically. SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro can also act like a DHCP server if there is no in your existing network.

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro comes integrated with online update support. No more going to a website, downloading a file, and uploading it to a device. Click once to check if there’s an update, and click a 2nd time to perform the update. That’s it.

SnaZio* Tera NAS HD Pro is a wireless ready solution. Simply connect a USB wireless controller and the device can now be wireless, all due to its feature rich operating system that has the tendency to either work on wired or wireless networks.
